sunday. that is -- every sunday. he's the man who's responsible for bringing football back to baltimore. this morning we have been told he's at the hospital reported to be in grave condition at johns hopkins. the 87-year-old purchased the cleveland browns that was back in 1961. he moved the franchise to baltimore in 1996. that move made him a hero here. he sold the minority interest of the team to steve bisciotti back in 2000 and in april 2004, bisciotti completed the purchase of the franchise. art modell right now johns hopkins again we're keeping a really close eye on the story and we're working the phones right now to get you the latest condition because he's been such a champion not only to bringing football but a also local charities here in the baltimore area. >>> another bier stick happening today -- big story happening today. mosquito spraying will begin in baltimore county and that's happening tonight. abc2 news linda so is here with all the details about the spraying. >> reporter: it's scheduled for tonight. in the millford mill neighborhood and workers with the department of

driving tired is dangerous. there's also a list of five myths about drowsy driving. >>> a baltimore man is perhaps one of hundreds who got hepatitis c from a traveling medical technician. david kwiatkowski was at maryland hospitals and others in other states. roosevelt leftwich joins us with more on the story. >> reporter: nelson said david kwiatkowski was on the team that treated him in 2008. this was one of several hospitals where kwiatkowski worked as a temp, but a temp that authorities said had a drug problem and did anything to get that fixed. 1966, linwood nelson served in baltimore. he said the baltimore va has been great, treating him for many years, more recently lung disease. that's why he was surprised when they contacted him about a meeting. >> it was a phone call from the chief of staff from the hospital's office telling me the situation about mr. kwiatkowski and said that i needed to come in to be tested, and about a week later they called me and told me that i tested positive for hepatitis c. >> reporter: nelson appears to be a victim of david kwiatkowski a temporary technic

northeast baltimore. i'll let you know how that will affect your commute coming up. >>> in the meantime, that weather yesterday was nasty. >> it was nasty. and we have lots of storm reports, lots of wind damage, wind gusts out there. and also still dealing with some flooding on some small streams and creeks as we go into carroll county and also fredrick county. let's start with some storm reports this morning. you can see all the blue dots. those indicate the wind damage that we saw yesterday, and this is what's going on right now with the yellow dot in howard county. well, that is wind -- the wind gust, rather, is what we're going to be dealing with there. so we can see basically that all day long it was a rough type of day in the afternoon time frame as well. we can see what's going on in terms of some wind damage around westminster, that was yesterday. it happened at 3:25. and for today we are going to begin to clean things up. it's going to be much better outside. but we're still talking about the flood warning that's in effect until, actually, 11:45, it was extended. you can see it

baltimore's baseball town once again tonight the orioles will unveil the fifth in its living legend series and they are monoing the ironman. -- honoring the ironman. charlie back down there live at camden yards with the story and charlie important date in history. >> reporter: a wonderful date in history. 17 years ago today megan cal ripken jr. became baseball's ironman at 2130 games consecutive games played without taking a day off. imagine doing your job that day. going to work for over 2,000 days in a row and never calling in sick. but cal ripken he did it. and in 1995 he became the all time leader at 2131. tonight the o's are going to honor the ironman by unveiling the statue in the living legend park. cal is fifth. so cal is going to take his place among them. some things you need to know for the game tonight. gates are going to open at 5:00 and the ceremony around 5:15. then on the field ceremony at 6:20 tonight just before first pitch against the yankees. we talked to monica about this today. the game tonight is a sellout. a lot of people coming out to the ballpark here in downtown

the country including here in baltimore and inner harbor wherewe find linda so this morning. linda you going to tell us about a memorial. people are not familiar with this because it's sun dial and it happens once a year. >> reporter: yeah and it sits in front of the world trade center in downtown baltimore. and in just about 40 minutes,something special will happen here. when the sun comes up this morning, the building will actually cast a shadow that will move across the memorial and hitinscriptions that tell us what happened on september 11th. of course, 11 years ago today. the memorial honor the 69 marylanders who died on 9/11. this is one of the steel columns from the world trade center when it collapsed. there's also an exhibit at the top of the building that list the names and pictures of all the marylanders who died. so starting at 6:44 this morning, when the sun comes up, a shadow will move across the memorial and highlight the specific times when the planes crashed into the world trade center at the pentagon and inshanksville. this happens once a year on 9/11. here at thi

lead police to her home on monday when they -- where she was arrested. in baltimore county, jeff hager, abc2 news. >>> well, here she is. police identified her as brandy tennille ames and a judge has set bail at half a million dollars. >>> all right. we have video to show you. this is video that led to an arrest last year. recount recount police said this is brandon michael smith of crofton caught into the act breaking into a car last october. this private surveillance video led to smith's arrest last year when the police department put it on their facebook page, but the charge didn't stick. officers arrested smith again this weekend after a simple traffic violation. when police went through his car, they found stolen property and tools of a break-in trade. police said there could be more victims. listen. >> we have some unclaimed property at this point. we're asking folks to come forward. >> so right now you nabbed him for one recently but it could be more than that exactly. >> if you live in gambrills or crofton, keep an eye out. >>> investigators are trying to find the cause o
